Our Model: Empowering the community
Collinear Capital is built on a community-driven investment model. Our investors (LPs) are consultants, systems integrators, and enterprise technologists who bring deep expertise in B2B enterprise technology and the markets they operate in.
Here’s how we’re different:
- Access for Individuals: Unlike traditional venture funds that cater to institutional investors, our fund is open to individuals* working in the enterprise tech ecosystem.
- Expert-Led Investing: Our LPs don’t just invest capital — they bring their expertise to the table. They help us identify high-potential startups, evaluate opportunities, and provide portfolio companies with critical support.
- Value Beyond Capital: Our community helps portfolio companies scale by advising on hiring, product development, and partnerships.
* Investors must qualify as accredited.
Our investment focus
Series A and B "Enterprise B2B" startups with validated customers who are ready to scale.
Target Areas: Enterprise software, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, AI/ML tools, and other core enabling technologies that drive enterprise transformation.
Check Size: Initial investments of ~$3M, with follow-on investments as needed. We partner with lead VCs on investment rounds.
Our investments are guided by one principle: We invest in what we can support best. Our community brings deep, firsthand experience with the challenges and opportunities in enterprise technology, which helps us make better investment decisions and deliver more value to our portfolio companies.
What drives us
The enterprise tech equation
Enterprise technology thrives on a critical relationship between three key players:
- Enterprise technology product companies (like Snowflake or Databricks)
- Consulting firms and systems integrators (like Accenture, Slalom, Cognizant, or Infosys)
- Enterprise customers (like Boeing, AT&T, or Pfizer)
We call this dynamic the Enterprise Tech Equation. It’s a symbiotic relationship where each party depends on the others to succeed. Technology product companies create core innovations (i.e., enabling technologies), but consultants and systems integrators are the ones who customize and implement these technologies for enterprise customers, ensuring real business value. Without both, enterprise customers rarely achieve meaningful outcomes.
Yet, while employees of technology companies benefit from stock options and equity, the consultants and enterprise technologists driving these implementations typically don't see the same financial upside. We're here to change that.
How we add value to startups
Our community plays a pivotal role in helping them succeed by focusing on three key areas:
- Talent Acquisition: Our community knows the best people in the industry and can either recommend key hires or fill roles themselves.
- Product and Market Advice: As startups scale, they need to break into new markets and develop new features. We form ad-hoc advisory panels of our experts to guide our portfolio companies.
- Partnerships: A major success driver for enterprise startups is integration with consulting and systems integration firms. Our consultants help navigate partnership programs, make introductions, and assist with partnerships.
